Al Rustaq and Al Hazm - As can be seen , the most significant cultural heritage in Oman are forts. Together with the observation towers and walls of the city were used as places of defense or observation points . Forts were usually headquarter authorities. Their architectural style depends on the period in which they were built .
With Nakhl to Al Rustaq drove the scenic route, the bottom of the ravine . We were surrounded by brown rocks eastern part of the Hajar mountains .
In the Middle Ages Al Rustaq was the capital of Oman ( as you can see one of the many ) . In the present days town is just not that important. The main observation tower of the fort was built in the thirteenth century, in the Sassanid's time. Fort has several wells with hot springs . It is interesting that had a tunnel connecting the nearest fort in Al Hazm .
Al Hazm is a village 20 km away from Al Rustaq . There is an interesting fort built in 1700. During this time, briefly became the capital of Oman, in place of Al Rustaq . Architecturally stands out from the other castles, because it has the characteristic shape of two towers - towers , which are located diagonally and massive building .
Fort was closed because the inside renovations were carried out . However, after knocking the gates of the castle opened our courteous and armed guard . Let us enter into the courtyard , and the guide told us about the original front door , richly carved in honor of Imam builds it Seif bin Sultan .

Bahla
Bahla is 30 - 40 km from Nizwa . Oasis is known for the ruins of the fort surrounding it and the bazaar, which sells distinctive clay pots manufactured only in this city. Clay - stone outer walls of the fort and defenses were destroyed every year by the seasonal rains . Therefore, the fort and walls as evidence of an ancient civilization have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1987. So look before reconstruction.
Fort is located right next to the road. It was still under renovation and repair work continued - reconstruction. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to enter inside. We had to settle for a bypass of the fort , and it was every move. Fort is situated on a rock at 50 meters high observation towers.
Next to the fort was an old mosque. Encountered by our native said that this is one of the oldest mosques in Oman. The project specifically has been preserved base its minaret. From the top of the complex panorama stretched and clay- Bahla - stone wall extending to the hills around the village. Walls had a length of about 12 kilometers. It is a little simmilar to chinese wall.
Both buildings in the care of UNESCO waiting for centuries for its reconstruction. During the work they use the same techniques and materials as centuries ago. It is clay mixed with gypsum and Sarooj (a traditional type of cement in Oman).

Jabrin Fort
Znajdziemy tutaj kuchnię, biblioteki, dzienne pokoje, dużo schodów i wejście do ciemnych lochów.
Z najwyższego punktu fortu zobaczymy całą okolicę, tj. gaj palmowy otaczający rezydencję, półpustynny bezkres i góry.
Wyśmienite duże kurczaki i mięciutka wołowina, z pełnymi talerzami przepysznie doprawionego ryżu, sałatka ze świeżych warzyw i soki z naturalnych owoców zadowolą każdego „głodomora”.
Jedziemy !!!
Jabrin Fort was built in 1675 as a summer residence of Sultan Al Ya'arubi . It is located near the Bahla in the oasis between Jabal Akhdar mountains .
Fort after the restoration is in very good condition. We find here a kitchen , library , living room , lots of stairs and the entrance to the dark dungeons . Prison and school - madrassa , because for some time rooms of the palace were used for the study. Noteworthy is the wooden ceiling in the one of the rooms , which are decorated with floral motifs and verses from the Qur'an in the Safavid style .
From the highest point of the fort we can see the whole area , palms grove that surrounds the residence , semi-desert vastness and mountains.
On the way back - near the fort - we stopped in the restaurant. Delicious big chicken and very soft beef, with full plates delicious spiced rice, salad with fresh vegetables and natural fruit juices will satisfy every " Hunger Artist " . Price too !
We hadn't time to enjoy the nourishment , as other attractions were before us. Here we go !

Przejechaliśmy skręt do jaskiń Al Hoove z podwodnym jeziorem, stalaktytami i stalagmitami. Mieszkańcy wioski – kobiety - nieśmiało spoglądały z okien na nowych przybyszy, a my kroczyliśmy z ciekawością w głąb mieściny. Weszliśmy w labirynt korytarzy, spoglądając w lewo i prawo na kamienną zabudowę mijanych domostw. Część z nich była już opuszczona. W pewnym momencie schodami zeszliśmy do małego zbiornika wodnego, w którym pływał miejscowy chłopak. Chętnie pozowali do zdjęć.
Zjeżdżając ze wzniesienia gór Al Hanjar, roztaczała się przed nami panorama na Al Hamra i okalające go wzniesienia gór, oświetlonych zachodzącym słońcem. Czas było wracać do Muscatu.
A few miles out of Bahla, we turned to the village of Al Hamra. Along the way we passed a herd of camels driven by local Bedouins. The original view, you probably will not see anywhere else. We drove to the caves turn Al Hoova with underwater lake, stalactites and stalagmites. However, at this point, our objective was the village of Al Misfah located on the edge of the ravine. Winding led to the village, rising steadily up the road. Full impatience suddenly stood before the entrance to the village, which was built of stone on stone (on the rock). Everywhere was surrounded by a palm grove fabulous banana and date palms. The villagers - women - shyly looked from the windows of the new arrivals, and we walked in with curiosity into the townships. We have entered a maze of corridors, looking left and right to the stone buildings you pass houses. Some of them had already been abandoned. At one point we went down the stairs to a small body of water in which swam a local boy. Against the background of the surrounding palm trees looked like Mowgli from "The Jungle Book". Next we went palm promenade, together with the village, and on the other hand, orange - brown canyon walls. So we walked into the village from the top, descending slowly to the fork in the road. At the gift shop were two natives, who looked like characters from a wax museum. We are happy to pose for pictures.
Going down a hill mountains Al Hanjar, evoked in front of us at Al Hamra panorama and mountain hills surrounding it, lit by the setting sun. It was time to go back to Muscatu.

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
Szukając chwili wytchnienia i odpoczynku po
wyczerpujących podróżach, pojechaliśmy do meczetu The Sultan Qaboos Grand
Mosque”.
Omanu.
Meczet jest widoczny z daleka, a znakiem
rozpoznawczym jest kopuła (dome) i minaret znacznych rozmiarów. Kompleks równie
pięknie prezentuje się po zachodzie słońca.
Meczet został oddany do użytku 4 maja 2001
roku, tj. 10 safara 1422 roku księżycowego. Jest to największy meczet w Omanie.
Główny minaret mierzy około 90 metrów wysokości, a dome około 50 metrów.
Pozostałe minarety sięgają 45 metrów
wysokości.
Meczet pełniąc rolę centrum propagowania
islamskiej religii, cywilizacji, literatury i kultury, posiada m.in. bibliotekę
ze zbiorem 20000 książek i salę konferencyjną na 300
osób.
Kamień do budowy kompleksu był sprowadzony z
Indii.
białym i ciemnozielonym marmurem.
Po wejściu do środka pierwszą rzeczą, która
zwraca uwagę to ogromna powierzchnia.
Żyrandol mierzy 8 m długości i waży 8,5 tony.
Utkany misternie w
jednym kawałku, z 1700 milionów węzłów. Zrolowany ważył 21
ton.
Na ścianie skierowanej w stronę Mekki
znajduje się mihrab, bogato przyozdobiony perskimi wzorami. To przede wszystkim
i czas modłów.
Po wyjściu na zewnątrz, w parku okalającym
meczet, można było kontemplować artystyczne
doznania.
Wracając do centrum Muscatu, całkiem
Owiewany
Christo.
Ciekawostka !
W listopadzie
reprezentacja Omanu przegrała z Brazylią 0 :
2.
Magia
futbolu trwa !!!
Looking for a breather and
rest after a grueling travel, we went to the Mosque The Sultan Qaboos Grand
Mosque. " Mosque is located in the middle of the road from the airport to
Muscat center. It’s close to three-lane motorway Sultan Qaboos Street, which is
also a major way from the capital to all regions and cities in Oman. The mosque
is visible from a far, a trademark is dome (dome) and the minaret of
considerable size. The complex also beautifully presented after sunset. The
mosque was put into operation 4 May 2001, ie 10 Safar 1422 years the moon. It
is the largest mosque in Oman. The main minaret is measured about 90 feet high,
and the dome about 50 meters. The remaining minarets reach 45 meters in height.
Mosque acting as a center to promote the Islamic religion, civilization,
literature and culture, has such library with a collection of 20 000 books, and
a conference room for 300 people. The stone for the construction of the complex
was imported from India. Home plate and alleyways around the mosque are decorated
in white – gray marble. Inside the whole structure is propped on thick columns,
covered with white and dark green marble. Once inside, the first thing you will
notice a huge area. In the background we see leaving this space under the dome
of the mosque is an impressive chandelier made of crystal and gold by
Swarovski. Chandelier measures 8 meters in length and weighs 8.5 tons. If you
believe the information that it is the largest of this type of chandelier in
the world. I walked on a huge rug lying on the entire surface of the interior
of the mosque. It was made by hand by eminent weavers of Isfahan. Intricately
woven in one piece, from 1700 million nodes. Rolls weighed 21 tons. On the wall
facing toward Mecca is a mihrab, richly decorated with Persian designs. It is
primarily a vegetable and geometric motifs and pathetic phrases from the Koran.
On the right is an unusual minbar (the increase for the Imam) in the form of a
balcony. They are usually short on a downward spiral staircases that lead imam
to "seat". They also crafted the stained glass windows on both sides
of the mosque. Unfortunately we had to leave this sophisticated work, since the
protection of culturally emphasized that the hour of 11:00 am and time of
prayer. After leaving the outside in the park around the mosque, one could
contemplate the artistic experience. Returning to Muscat center, not far from
the Grand Mosque, was smaller, "dainty" mosque minaret with a
characteristic the clock, which was installed on the top. Due to the prevailing
heat, made the traditional ablutions before entering the mosque. Thus purified,
filled us with the interior of the mosque, filled with colorful lights and
twilight arising from piercing through the stained glass sun. Also interesting
was the colonnade made of porcelain pieces. Afternoon and evening we spent on
the banks of the Gulf of Oman, lazily enjoying the ubiquitous peace. Search for
a warm breeze blows over the sea wolf on the horizon and stared at the stone
island the Count of Monte Cristo.
Interesting! In the
evenings, the beaches are filled with the entire length of the lovers of
football and into the sunset last hard-fought matches. Players in shoes and
barefoot, in the sleeves favorite players or not, give themselves no rest, ball
on the edge of the sea. In November, Oman team lost to Brazil 0: 2. Magic
football lasts!
